2020 was a tough year for most of us. So, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Are your new year’s skin care resolutions going to help you have better skin this year? Having clear, blemish-free skin is something that we would all love. It’s undeniable. Yet often it can feel like “the chosen ones” have all the luck of great genetics, while the rest of us struggle to find products that suit our skin. So, for those that need an extra tip or two to get that perfect skin, Dr. Vitaly Blatnoy can recommend some simple ways to keep your skin happy.

SKIN CARE RESOLUTION #1: BE CONSISTENT WITH CLEANSING:

BE CONSISTENT WITH CLEANSING

Many people that come into the Orlando, FL clinic have a hard time with keeping to their cleansing routine. The easiest way to reduce breakouts and prevent clogged pores is to use a proper cleanser every day. You should cleanse every morning before applying your makeup for the day and also every evening before heading to bed. You should never apply makeup on top of dirty skin. Just this one main rule can alleviate many skincare woes.

SKIN CARE RESOLUTION #2: STAY HYDRATED INSIDE & OUT

Drinking lots of water is great for not only the inside of your body, but for your skin as well. Be sure to use a good moisturizer twice a day after using a cleanser as well, but, don’t skip hydrating yourself internally for two glasses of water before bed and in the morning. Your body constantly craves water, so don’t dehydrate yourself.

SKIN CARE RESOLUTION #3: KICK BAD HABITS & BAD DIETS

KICK BAD HABITS & BAD DIETS

One of the worst things for your skin is alcohol use, so try not to over do it. We know champagne on New Year’s night is a necessity, but one night’s overuse of alcohol can damage your skin very quickly and leave you with a week’s worth damage control. Smoking and eating unhealthy are also extremely damaging to the skin. Avoid oily, fatty foods and anything fried. Your skin loves organic, greens, and fruits, be sure to include as many of those in your diet.

40% of Americans make new years resolutions, however only 8% actually achieve them according to the University of Scranton. When it comes to your skin and body, you do not want to skip out on taking the best care of yourself.

Here’s to a safe and happy 2021! We wish you all the best, please stay safe out there tonight!
