Dermal Fillers: Safe, Effective Anti-Aging
Many signs of aging are related to a progressive volume loss which can be lessened by dermal fillers. As facial tissues thin out as we age, lines become deeper and more noticeable especially around the nose, and mouth. Cheeks become flatter and eyes become sunken. Dermal fillers:
- replenish volume loss
- smooth out wrinkles
- give a more youthful appearance
- become increasingly popular over the years
It is a great way to look younger without a surgery or downtime. This is one of the safest cosmetic treatments available. Patients of various ages and all skin types can be safely treated.

Choosing the Right Filler
Today there is a variety of FDA approved dermal fillers on the market, and it can be a little overwhelming to choose the right one. Once we evaluate your skin we will be able to recommend the appropriate filler based on your specific needs and desired results.
The most common filler is made from Hyaluronic that is a natural substance in your skin. It helps to keep the skin plump and hydrated. It is very soft and feels like a gel.
The results are immediate and last anywhere from 6 to 12 months. Generally speaking, the denser the product is the more deeply it is injected, the longer it will last. In experienced hands and conservative approach the results look very natural. Fillers are infused with lidocaine to help minimize discomfort during and after the procedure.
What to Expect
The injections can be done during your office visit and are considered a lunch time procedure. After the treatment some patients may experience mild redness, bruising and swelling, but these are temporary and should resolve within a few days. You may apply make up the next day. Serious side effects are rare.
You should be able to go back to your normal daily activities right after your treatment however you should avoid strenious activities.
